The concept of an observatory was realized soon after I saw my scope would need two people to safely carry it from the house to the yard.  Not only was that a hassle on my ability to use the scope, setup and alignment was also time consuming.  I've made available photos of the two observatories and the construction of the current building.  I've also provided a link to a collection of several amateur observatories of various designs.
